Makita GD0800C Geradschleifer

I needed a die grinder with variable speed and power so I tried this Makita and a Metabo GE 710 Plus...While they both have similar functions and features the Metabo clearly had more vibration...I do prefer the back air inlet on the Metabo over the side air inlet on the Makita though...And the one wrench design on the Metabo is nice...Overall though I preferred the Makita because of the almost zero vibration.. I have ran the Makita for several hours on multiple jobs at various speeds and it performed perfectly...Can't ask for much more... kd

I love it! The variable speed is a must for carving/shaping wood. Great addition to my wood carving toolbox

Everything is quality but it grabs onto all my different mandrels with a death grip and it is extremely hard to get them out!!!

I bought a glitter bit (1/4" x 3.5" Long Diamond Glitter Bit Rounter Bits Safe RPM Range 8,000 - 15,000 Sold by: DBMIMPORTS) also on Amazon. However, the bit is little bigger than the collet. So now I am not sure which one is not up to standard. The bit is little bit bigger. I tried hard to push it into collet and it seems the collect is pretty rigid and there seems no way to be able to push that in. I was wondering if the seller verify if indeed this die grinder is 1/4" collet (hopefully is not a metric one) or if any buyer has the same experience and can share the solution. Many thanks. UPDATED: I think Makita should have a better instruction in the manual on how to take out the collet. I searched Internet for a while and found a way to get out of the collect completely and then I can put this bit on and tighten up with the collet wrench. Drawback is that the collet is very hard to pull out.
