I purchased the KAL II at the same time as the Duo and tripod. The latter is possibly used more often, but the KAL II is ideal when you are working in a confined space. I have used it in so many applications. On full beam, the charge doesn't last too long, but dimmed, it generally does. Having said all that, if you have a Festool battery, then it doesn't matter, as on full beam will last at least twice as long. Again, wish I had purchased it earlier. Expensive, but you soon forget that when it gets you out of a pickle.

The previous reviewer is generally correct although you do still have the magnetic ball joint mount and the option of using a tripod with a battery fitted. Don't understand the comment about brightness as I've used in complete darkness to illuminate a work area and it was a huge help. It's expensive but it's Festool quality and I'm pleased I bought it.
