If you use hardware synthesisers and haven't bought one of these then you're mad. Quirky and flawed for sure but it can do a heap of things that almost nothing else can. The modulation possibilities are in the realm of modular synthesisers and the filters are lovely.

This synth is versatile as any I've worked with thus far. Tender little twinkles, robust booming bass, shimmering pads, leads that can tear a hole though space and time, and thick atmospheres. Make sure to train your ears beforehand because if you aren't careful it'll blast them off. The filters are so flexible that I sometimes let it go too far and it can squeal like a pig. I cannot wait to put this through some extra outboard filtering and processing and let it's mischievous timbre meander a bit.

This module is a great intermediate step into synthesis. The sound quality is very good, the feature set is very extensive, and it's inexpensive. While not really very analog sounding, you can get close. But you can also explore sounds far beyond what a typical analog synth can do. 3 oscillators, wave tables, 2 multimode filters, polyphony and multimode timbres for days. There's still OS glitches, which is too bad. However, bang for buck, this thing consistently delivers.

Pros: 1) Unbeatable price/performance. 2) Quite impressive sound if you tweak it right. I have to say that factory presets are terrible and dated. 3) In a real life 4 knob matrix is rather comfortable,. That was a surprise for me. 4) Small footprint. 5) Metal enclosure. Cons: 1) Bouncing or unresponsive encoders could be really annoying if youre unlucky enough. Encoders can be fixed if you are familiar with screwdriver and soldering iron, but it is a biggest possible problem of this synth. 2) Useless built in overdrive. Even cheap guitar pedal sounds better. Overall impression - really good synth for a money. After a few hours of tweaking youll love it.
