Really like this bit of kit, I can see a lot of creative potential ahead. Comes with a good instruction manual to get you going, I was uploading samples and kits the same afternoon. Now building up my library of sounds using the included software and my keyboards. Couple of things worth mentioning, not negatives but worth knowing before you start 1 the SPD X can’t see a thumb drive bigger than 32mb 2 when you save samples to export to the unit you need to make sure they are 16bit Overall a great piece of gear, can’t wait to incorporate it in a live set

We have tried a couple different sampling pads behind our drums. We use them to trigger the snare as well as trigger other sounds off the pad and through external triggers. The Roland SPD – SX has given us no issues at all! It consistently performs well and I would definitely recommend it!

The Roland SPD-SX is everything you'd hope it would be and more. If you've done your research, you know it's a workhorse. They've recently added more on board RAM so that's a major plus. While the Software is still a little clunky, it's light years better than the Alesis' process of dealing with samples. This is the OG, and it's better than ever. The only negatives/room for improvement would be the power supply can be disconnected if not careful during a live performance, and more connections for trigger inputs would be great.

Spd-sx special edition is easy to use has beautiful red color Great sounds fast responses on the triggers great for experimenting basically wouldn't need a drum set it's like you'd be playing the real thing If you like sampling this is perfect great item to have in the studio 5 stars :)
