Guerlain Parure Gold Skin Matte Foundation 0N Neutral/Neutre 35 ml

Am now on to my 4th bottle. Winter or summer this is the best for my pale elderly skin

I have used this foundation for at least forty years and have always found it has an astounding quality although I imagine the project has had some changes of ingredients over that time. I can't imagine ever using any other. The coverage is perfect and the range of tints exceptional.

This is by far the most beautiful foundation I have used and for me, there is no other foundation to match it. It goes on beautifully on moisturised skin either using fingers, brush or sponge and you don't need lots. It gives a flawless finish and is long lasting. Simply gorgeous foundation and I love it.

This foundation does absolutely nothing for my skin. It merely gives me a colour and that isn't even natural looking. It doesn't smooth out my complexion or hide imperfections. It smells synthetically sweet . The compact is too large to sit comfortably in my hand whilst using. I cannot understand how Guerlain have got it so wrong on every level. So very disappointing.

The reason I don't think this was right for me, is because I have dry skin and while wearing the foundation my face felt very tight and uncomfortable. Really I should have learnt from past experiences that matt and dry skin is a no no on my skin. The other tricky bit about the foundation is it is very runny and dries really quickly, but with practise I think I could have mastered this using a good brush. Now for positives. Once on it looks wonderful and professional and does last for hours. My skin colour is medium/light and I chose shade 3N which was a very good match. A costly mistake for me, but for others perhaps without dry skin, it would be a great purchase.
