Manfrotto quality. Clings like an heir to a lightstand, I use this one to hold a Pocket Wizard. This clamp's versatility goes way beyond that though. I have on occasion attached it to a small ballhead and put it on a little tripod to hold/aim a flashlight for some tabletop shots.

I've used these for years in various studios I worked at. Now that I have my own business, I only buy grip equipment that I know is reliable and proven over great lengths of time. I've always used these on the end of a Manfrotto Magic Arm ( get the variable friction one ) to hold flags, gobos and cutters when shooting table top products. They are often made from or attached to a dowel rod. These 171 clamps also can accept a stud on the top of a light stand or another clamp. A valuable piece of grip equipment I can't do without.

I have a dozen of these in my studio and use them every day. They are well built and hold up to a lot of heavy use. There are so many different ways I use these in my studio and on site that they have become indispensable.Highly recomended.

I use this with Manfrotto #170 Spring loaded poles and the adjustable background holder bar. They all come as a set from B&H.
