Asus ZenWiFi AX (XT8) AX6600 2er Set

Purchased this in March/April 2025. One of the units is dead now.

This has improved the wifi speed in my home quite a bit. The two units are able to cover my house from the basement to the upstairs, and I'm able to get speeds in the hundreds of Mbps throughout. The ASUS firmware offers a pretty good selection of features, and I'm hoping it will soon be supported by the open source Merlin firmware (one of the two hardware versions of this model already is).

Our building has always been a big problem getting good WiFi in all the places we need it. When we got AT&T Fiber 300/300 installed recently, our old N-class mesh system couldn't deliver it everywhere. The MicroCenter sales rep suggested this ASUS AX6600 system with the router and three remotes. Excellent choice. We now have good 300/300 Internet service everywhere we need it. Very satisfied

I purchased these mesh WiFi devices in an attempt to cover areas of our large house that had very weak signals. After following the instructions and finding a couple of good locations for the satellites, they work perfectly. No more frozen TV screens or slow internet. Great product after first month of use!

Some difficulty with initial setup using app, but technical support (by phone) was excellent. Range on WiFi5/6 very impressive; on 2.4Ghz band, OK but not great -- but latter only needed for a couple of ancient devices. For control, I use the desktop software, which is *very* complete and works well. Of course, this is an older device, but for most people with "standard" internet speeds (sub GHz), a great value.
