HP 300s+

I needed a calculator with scientific calculation capability and did not need full graphics plotting capability. This one caught my eye during research and is doing just what I needed after purchasing.

1) The interface is unintuitive. M+ is a button but M- requires a shift. No obvious way to recall memory MR on most calculators is not a button. 2) But worse than that… the screen is too dim. Even on max contrast the screen is difficult to see at some light levels. 3) But the real killer on this product is that the keys don’t register all the time. You have to really pay attention to what the screen says or you’ll lose numbers. Type 123.5? Make sure you don’t get 125. Easily the worst calculator I’ve ever used.

I have used HP calculators for many years. Bought the HP 300s+ to replace my HP 28C. The display on the first one was so bad, I bought a second in hopes it was just that first calculator. The second was no better. I've lighten / darken, tried everything. I can read it, but with difficulty. I would welcome suggestions.
