I bought this as a gift for my 5-year-old, and the extra boards have been the perfect way to warm him up. He aced the first board virtually immediately, and took a little longer with the second. A few months later, he still comments that this was his favorite Christmas gift (among some good ones), and plays with it regularly. The quality is stellar; I expect this to last many years.

Actually, if Amazon allowed half-stars, I would have given this game four and one half stars - the only reason I took a star off was because surprisingly, the extra boards I received are slightly warped, which I would say affects the honesty of the gameplay somewhat. Otherwise, the base unit is excellent, and the knobs turn very smoothly. If you are wondering how the additional boards are installed, they just lie on top of the original maze. Nice and easy. :) This would be the version to get if you are trying to build up confidence in the player - A lot of people complain that the "easiest" board is too easy, and indeed if you have well developed eye-hand coordination, it's not much of a challenge. But for others, this would be a good starting point , whereas if you only have the original insane level, this game might end up collecting dust. And if you are skilled enough to make it all the way through, you could also try going backwards. :)

It can consume you - wish there were more maze inserts available

LOVE the 3 levels. Embarrassingly, my 4-year old was the first one to pass the simplest board... but none of us have been able to complete the most challenging one... yet!?
