Bought this when I discovered that my Dell R210 II wasn't working with the Chelsio T520-CR - the system wouldn't boot with that card. So I bought this and it was recognized and able to be configured in pfsense / opnsense without any additional steps. I have not been able to fully test the performance, but was able to achieve 2Gbit both ways with ease, so I'm 100% satisfied.

Intel makes a great NIC, with good support across pretty much every common OS. The X710 is no exception; I'd choose this NIC over a Broadcom any day, even if it's a bit more expensive. Power consumption is nice and low too, especially when using DAC instead of fiber.
