I had the same product before and was very satisfied with the stability and speed of connection on my desktop computer. Stable wifi connection with either 2.4GHz or 5.8GHz. Measured speeds up to 405 Mbit/s (nominal 700), very good link quality compared to other USB wifi dongles. Turnable antenna head and extension base with cable is really great too.

able to get a signal in a stone built house with a router with a weak connection

My house seems to have particularly WiFi-unfriendly walls. I need a very good signal over about 60 metres and through four walls. I have tried a number of different omnidirectional antennas and none of them can even detect the SSID of my router, let alone connect. I have also investigated options to add a unidirectional antenna to the WiFi router, but these all seem to be more complicated and more expensive. This antenna looked like the least expensive and simplest solution, so I gave it a try. Solid 90% or greater signal. Very pleased. There are unidirectional antennas with greater range, but they are all either more expensive or more complicated or indeed both. This antenna is suitable for home, home office or small business use. If you need a signal over 1km it is worth trying since it is so inexpensive, but I have not tried it in this capacity.

Well it does get a great signal and does transfer at a reasonable speed, but even when on it own usb2 or 3 port with no hub it causes blips in mouse movement, this makes it unusable for games and the like

Very good. works a treat on Windows 10. No setting up just plug it in A longer cable and a sucker to fix it to a window (which I have cobbled together) would make it perfect.
