These are very good switches to use for video surveillance especially with wireless antennas the DES series just doesn’t get it done and call backs or climbing to power cycle well enough said.

I've racked up almost a year of uptime now and haven't had any issues. This is a smart switch, so while there's no robust CLI and it isn't quite as feature rich as a Cisco IOS switch for example, it will certainly get the job done for almost any small to medium size business utilizing a few VLANs and some basic QoS. I've been powering a couple APs off it and that has worked just fine as well. It's a far cleaner solution than needing a PoE brick for each AP and if one of the APs locks up, you can remotely reset it by killing power to the port. It's great hardware for the price too. As far as I know it's the best value out there.

This switch has excellent features. POE ports can easily be managed. Can select to turn them on/off., set them to class I/II,III to make sure cameras get the right amount of wattage. I was able to set a schedule where one port power cycles at midnight so that my device can be on a scheduled reboot cycle. It has PORT POE priority which is very nice for PTZ Ip cameras theres many other features which I havent used simply because I dont have the need for them. The switch has run rock solid.
