Good Points: Easy to add a hard drive. Fast. Easy to use once set up. Improvement Points: Set up instructions need to be better. I had to go online to get detailed instructions.

Good Points: Stylish design, silent, very good with media streaming.

Good Points: Easy to set up and works as I would have expected a NAS Drive. Also, good selection of software packages to choose from. Improvement Points: Sometimes can be a bit slow when carrying out a full PC backup.

Good Points: Relatively easy to setup for a reasonably computer literate person. Software appears pretty good, although the array of available apps to run on it is rather baffling. Continuous backup option is good for critical work documents. Synology apps appear to connect and work reasonably well from both iOS and Android. Can't yet comment on reliability but am backing up two other hard drives as well as the Synology NAS. Haven't used for media streaming yet. Improvement Points: The Synology software connects reliably to the NAS from a PC, however accessing it via Windows 10 network is not consistent, sometimes it connects sometimes it doesn't, no idea why.

Good Points: managed to set it up and configure it will controlled external access Improvement Points: still unsure what it is capable of; some loose ends due to abortive attempts to achieve what I now have; documentation could be improved and focussed on 'what do you want to achieve?' and 'what this device is capable of.
