I am a professional videographer and comercial dUAS pilot. We capture video and stills primarily for local TV commercials and filmmaking. I have found that the X5 micro 4/3 camera is a good solution, offering a few different focal length lenses and a little more control over exposure and focus. These features make a difference in capturing images that clients are paying for. And since my market really can't support a budget for a larger drone that can fly a real camera, this is a good substitute. I would like to see a little more obvious peak focusing highlights on the screen. For a user not accustomed to operating a camera in full on manual mode, the learning curve to get a good image could tend to frustrate, but that's not really the camera's fault. This is a Micro 4/3 sensor, not a full frame sensor with gobs of dynamic range and professional compression codecs. But is a good for what it is.I would recommend it for someone wanting to take their production value up a notch.

This camera is an amazing addition to the DJI Inspire 1. However, take it easy if you've been flying with the Zenmuse X3 for some time. This camera has a much different FOV and requires much more attention while flying. For your first few flights with this camera use an area that is familiar to you to gauge the differences and get used to the new lens and the effects of having a heavier payload on the drone. I didn't do this and crashed the Inspire 1 and X5 within 15 minutes of unboxing as I found a lone power line in the middle of a cotton field. Up until that fateful moment I loved the image I was receiving and color grading it in post is excellent! I will be receiving the Zenmuse X5 and Inspire back from repair next week and am excited to get this camera back in the air!

The Zenmuse x5 is a huge step up from the DJI camera that is shipped with the Inspire 1 and Osmo. The ability to have the camera go to a 1.7 f-stop adds great production value and versatility.

Upgraded from the 3. It's like upgrading from a GoPro to GH4.

I have been shooting with the X5 for a few months now and using M Zuiko 12mm 25mm 45mm with this camera and its flawless no issues so far. Works like a champ with my Osmo with the 3d printed adapter. I just wish dji would release the real adapter asap...
