This was my first pair of Hokas and I was quite impressed. The Bondi is supposed to be on the plush side as a running shoe, and I found this to be true. They are extremely comfortable as a walking or running shoe. They are true to size and the room I had in the toe box was very helpful compared to the Nike Pegasuses that I was used to. Despite being so soft, I found them to still be structured enough to keep up with my dog, who has trouble running in a straight line when you’re attached to him. Build wise, I think these are quite well manufactured. Also compared to my usual Nikes, the paneling and finishes have less initial quality issues, and they seem like they would hold up well over time. In terms of styling, I don’t think any Hokas look particularly great, especially compared to Nikes, but that is subjective. Overall, I would recommend these for someone looking for maximum cushioning and comfort on walks and runs.

I bought the faded navy color (not black as shown), but the real delight is how these feel on my feet! I bought a second pair this year because I'm wearing them every day to help my sciatica and I'm afraid of when they take this style away and I have to get used to the nest one! Bondi 7 was ok, these are better. I got Clifton one year and they are not made as well, they started to break down fast.

I like the fit of the shoes. Sizing seems accurate, I’m normally 9.5-10 and 10s have a nice fit, not too tight while being snug enough not to slip around. They really feel comfortable when you put them on. The large sole/heel will take some getting used to, it changes your stride. In the little bit of running I’ve tried so far, the extra cushioning feels like it reduces impact of running. I’ve got bad knees so running in recent years always makes them ache for days after. I’m hoping these will improve that. I haven’t had them long enough to know how they’ll hold up, so I’ll set after more time using them. First impressions so far is that these could be a solution if injuries and age make running difficult. It’s at least worth a shot if you’ve been struggling with pain or given up for lower impact sports like swimming or biking.

Love these HOKA Bondi 9 sneakers! So light and comfortable! I just wear them for walking/hiking, not running, but they work great for my purposes. REI did not have my size (5) in stock at the store, but ordering them for home delivery was easy and the shoes came quickly.

HOKA went totally cheap on us. Not the same shoe I’ve been loyal to year after year. New Bondi 9 is a major downgrade from Bondi 8. Soooo disappointed. So many changes for the worst. They’re trying to pull the wool over our eyes by cutting every corner possible. Who’s the HOKA person responsible for the changes? They need to be outa a job Time to go elsewhere for shoes. Do not buy HOKA 9, they’re terrible.
