The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 auf der Switch ist ein humorvolles, umfangreiches Point-and-Click-Abenteuer mit viel Parodie auf das Fantasy-Genre. Die Charaktere sind gut gesprochen und die Grafik ist schön, besonders im Handheld-Modus. Nachteilig ist, dass die Steuerung manchmal langsam und umständlich wirkt und einige Rätsel sehr schwer sind. Wer den ersten Teil nicht gespielt hat, vermisst manchmal den Kontext, aber die Handlung steht größtenteils für sich. Das Spiel ist besonders für Fans des Genres geeignet, die Humor mögen und sich Zeit lassen wollen. Achtung: Touchscreen-Unterstützung fehlt, was das Spielen weniger intuitiv macht als auf dem PC.

Returning to Aventasia was a delight. I revisited all the sights I loved and caught up with the good folk who made my last foray into their lands such a joy. The fact everything looks exactly like it did all those years ago was a comfort, but I couldn’t help but think they really should have given the place a bit of a spruce up after all this time.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is a great ‘point and click’ adventure game. Over the course of the game you’ll be pulled out of the moment as they reintroduce characters with little context, or mention moments you never saw if you missed the original game. Despite this and some frustrating controls and movement, the game is worth checking out if you don’t already have it on another platform. Genuinely humorous and fun adventure games are far and few between, so if you’re willing to overlook some manageable issues it’s definitely worth a look.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 ist ein bezauberndes und sehr witziges Point-and-Klick-Adventure, das Rätselfreunde und Fantasy-Fans bestens unterhalten kann. Die Rätsel, die durch Denken und Ausprobieren gut zu lösen sind, haben einen angemessenen Schwierigkeitsgrad, und die humorvolle Atmosphäre voller Anspielungen auf diverse Fantasy-Werke sorgt dafür, dass euch nie langweilig wird. Hübsche Hintergründe, tolle Musik und eine gelungene deutsche Synchronisation tragen zum überzeugenden Gesamtbild bei. Schade ist, dass längere Rätseleinlagen manchmal den Schwung aus der Story nehmen und dass der Touchscreen der Nintendo Switch nicht genutzt wird. Unterm Strich lässt sich das aber verschmerzen. Toll, dass die Nintendo Switch-Bibliothek um dieses kreative Spiel bereichert wurde!
