Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom für PS4 überzeugt mit wunderschöner Anime-Grafik, lebendigen Farben und einem mitreißenden Soundtrack. Das Echtzeit-Kampfsystem ist zugänglich und bietet dennoch Tiefe, während der Aufbau des eigenen Königreichs und strategische Skirmish-Kämpfe für Abwechslung sorgen. Die Charaktere sind charmant, aber die Story und deren Entwicklung bleiben gerade für erfahrene JRPG-Spieler etwas oberflächlich. Auch gibt es relativ wenig Sprachausgabe, wodurch wichtige Momente an Wirkung verlieren. Zu Beginn sind die Kämpfe oft einfach und können sich wiederholen, später steigt jedoch die Herausforderung. Insgesamt eine visuell beeindruckende und zugängliche RPG mit viel Inhalt, aber auch klaren Schwächen.
