Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection PS5 Review – Bear with me for just a moment: I was eight, and my small town still had its public arcade. I’d ask my grandma for some quarters to go play while she sat in the local grocery store diner. After she told me I was wasting her money, I ran to the arcade in hopes no one was on the Teenage Mutants Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time kiosk. I had a couple go-to games in the arcade, but Turtles in Time was number one. My mom couldn’t swing a Super Nintendo, so my only opportunities to play Turtles in Time came when I visited the arcade or stayed over at my one friend’s house. This leads us to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. While nostalgia carried me to start the review, I found a competent collection that handles a series of beloved retro games quite well in terms of a console experience.

TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection is a painstakingly crafted love letter to a by-gone era of gaming, bringing 13 classic games to the modern age while adding in a slew of features including the ability to rewind, save, and toggle enhancements which greatly enhance the gameplay experience. Add in the impressively comprehensive list of documents available in the Turtle’s Lair and you have a collection well worth the asking price. — Richard Allen

Für viele von uns ist die The Cowabunga Collection nichts anderes als eine gelungene nostalgische Rückkehr zu den glorreichen Tagen dieser Art von Spielen. Die jüngere Generation wird die Klassiker erleben können, mit denen viele von uns Älteren aufgewachsen sind.  Ob es einem 40 Euro Wert ist diese Spiele in einer ausgezeichnet konservierten Version zu erleben, muss natürlich jeder für sich selbst entscheiden. Angesichts der nützlichen Komfortfunktionen, dem hervorragenden Zusatzmaterial und allerlei technischer Verbesserungen kann ich diese Frage für mich nur mit einem lautstarken "Cowabunga" beantworten.
