This is an addicting game, and has that arcarde feel that is my go-to when it comes to gaming. I like stuff that is quick to jump in and play. This scratches that itch, and brings a nice challenge to the table.

This game knows exactly what it is and every mechanic and enemy plays to the core vision. The weapon variety and different play styles offer great repeatablility, and it's always cool to see the different colour palettes you unlock as you go. My one criticism is that with the simple graphics,.When there's a lot happening on screen I find it very easy to lose sight of my character. But like with all things, could be a skill issue, and could just be the palette I use. It's the type of game that puts you into a "flow-state". With it's amazing music, great but eerie sound design, vibrant yet simple pixel graphics, and straightforward but intense gameplay-loop, Downwell is an amazing game. Definitely a game to get lost in for an evening/weekend.

Arcade style fun with many modes and fun progression

this game is great to hop in to play, it can get repetitive. but the upgrade and combo system it makes a great arcade rouge like.

Fun little game when you are short on time. It runs pretty well on my potato laptop for once it doesn't overheat. Besides that it's minimalist but solid roguelike!
