Awesome travel tripod. I use it as a backup and when filming a travel show. I purchased a Cartoni in the same category. It did not have enough drag and began to leak after 10 months. Disappointed in Cartoni, I purchased the Benro. It has held up and performed flawlessly even after three trips around the world and heavy use.

The tripod legs are quite good. No complaint. The head has great potential. The counterbalance is even better than Manfrotto. However, the drag is just about non-existent. Even in full drag the head tilts as if there is no drag at all, or just about so. No way of adjusting it. If you use additional counterbalance to compensate (never a good idea), then the head pushes the camera up or down toward the horizontal position. It if wasn't for the drag being such a problem (non-functional), I would probably have given this 5 stars, as the rest is really good. I only used it for a few times in studio to test it, but may have to return it because of the drag problem.

This is a fantastic tripod, and it's worth the money: just a bit too heavy for toting around. But I've owned it now for 8 months and do not have any complaints.

Use this tripod as an alternate to my larger Manfrotto sticks with my Sony FS-5. Perfect size and weight with an excellent fluid head for run and gun location situations. Very sturdy, solid build, fast setup. Would be a great piece of gear for any geared up DSLR as well.
