I am. full-time professional videographer/photographer and I purchased this lens primarily for videography and I have had the opportunity to use it a few times now and I absolutely love the image from this lens! It creates a gorgeous creamy bokeh, and has a lovely tonal quality to the entire image. The build quality is spot on and feels like it will last a few lifetimes. The action and long throw of the focus ring is perfect and makes manual focus a dream. The only downside is the weight of the lens and the fact that the entire barrel rotates when focusing, so it is difficult to find a position for a lens support. Overall I highly recommend this lens and feel it is a bargain for what you get for the price.

My top concern was the manual focusing as I shoot my portraits wide open, usually F1.4-F2. But up to now, all my images from this superb lens are super sharp and in focus. The image quality is amazing.

Good Points: Superb rendering Beautifully engineered Weather sealed Presentation on a par with iPhone. Improvement Points: Weight Fewer features than the FZ version. Price point.

The ZEISS Milvus 85mm f/1.4 ZE is a very good lens. The color reproduction is really outstanding with ZEISS lenses. I just sold my 3 (three) SIGMA art lenses because I could easily see that the ZEISS offers superior color quality. If you want real professional results go with the ZEISS products.
