Interesting glass. Nice size, light weight. I bought this lens for holiday trips because the 50* is a bit heavy to carry around with the K1 for longer. in addition, the rainbow flare effect is quite interesting as a curiosity. Optically it is ok. But only ok. At 1.4 it is relatively sharp in the center of the frame, full sharpness from 2.0. For the money, I can recommend it.

The FA 50mm F1.4 stands in a strange spot in the Pentax line-up. Until 2018, it had to be "the" full frame 50mm from Pentax, with all the expectations that come with such a role. Those shoes were, maybe, too large to be filled. After all, the FA 50mm could be compared with two much more recent lenses on APS-C (the DA 50mm F1.8 and DA* 55mm F1.4) and a number of third-party offerings on full frame, plus the FA 43mm Limited by stretching things a little.

als Anfänger hat man so seine Bedenken was die Schärfe betrifft. Nun habe ich dieses Objektiv schon seit 2007 an meiner Pentax K10D verwendet. Da bei F1/1,4 die Schärfentiefe wirklich hauchdünn und weich ist sollte man am besten mit Stativ arbeiten und sich ein wenig mit dem Fokus beschäftigen. Besser viele Fotos machen und aussortieren als enttäuscht heimgehen weil das richtige nicht dabei war. Ich benutze die Linse jetzt mittels P-MFT Adapter an meiner Lumix Gx80 Systemkamera. Hier funktioniert das Fokussieren auch Manuell super schnell und einfach. ( Wenn man etwas Übung hat) man darf halt nicht gleich die Flinte ins Korn schmeißen wenn man nicht gleich super Portraits hinbringt. Ich würde sagen es ist eben nichts für Hektiker und lern resistente Menschen. Da man Zeit und zusätzliches Equipment braucht um das Maximum aus der Linse zu holen gebe ich nur 4 Sterne.
