Whats not to like about this lens? Nothing IMHO. I retired my manual 50mm 1.7 to life on my GX7 mainly because once I put this lens on my K50 I didnt want to take it off. Very sharp, very light and very fast to focus. B&H is a great outfit and this was shipped in a very timely manner.

On my Pentax X-r, this lens has proven to be fast focusing, very sharp and obtains a great bokeh.

Its hard to beat what you get for the price. Great deal! I took this product shot with Pentax smc DA 50mm f/1.8 lens. Very happy!

I bought my first Pantax, a K-70 with the kit lens 18-135 mm only a few mounts ago . So, my experience with Pentax is limited. I thought I would buy the smc DA 50mm f/1.8 for those closeup pictures with nice blurred background. Lens looks and feels cheap which would be OK if the pictures where at least sharp. Similar pictures with the 18-135 kit lens are better and sharper on auto settings. Auto focusing with these lens and camera for portraits is so jumpy and difficult. I have not tried the manual focus to see if it makes any difference. However, I do not see any improvement over the kit lens. For me, it is not worth the investment.
