I use this lens with my Pentax KP and love it. It has creamy bokeh for portrait photos and when stepped down is excellent for landscape. It has become one of my two favorite lenses. One reviewer gave it a "one" star because it showed dark corners while using it on his K-1, which is a full frame camera. While this lens can be used on a full frame, it is made for the AP-C camera.

Really happy with my new lens. Love the crispness of eyes in portraits and the bokeh backgrounds with the shallow depth of field. Worth every penny and i have a feeling it will be a go-to lens!

I have tested for portrait photography and is incredible, so it is for low light pictures, but is not Full Frame.

Pros: Great lens with a very short DoF. Focus is sharp and clean. Great for portraits. Cons: Focus motor went out. Tried it on both of my K-3s. Motor made it about 2yrs. This is the first issue I've ever had with Pentax, so I'm chalking this one up to things happens. I really enjoyed this lens and am planning to replace it with another one.

I currently own three other lenses: 18-135 (kit lens), Tamron 70-200 f2.8 (which I really love) and the new Pentax 24-70 f2.8 but in all this my absolute favourite. In fact it's been on my camera body since I got it and I almost never use the others. Truth be told, it's sometimes soft at f1.4 but I almost always shoot at f1.6 and it's really sharp from this aperture upwards. If you purchase this lens, it's highly important that you properly calibrate it otherwise you might experience severe back/front focusing. At f1.4 your area of focus is really tiny so accuracy is instrumental. In my case, 9-10 shots would back-focus initially but I was able to easily resolve it in-camera with a setting of +10.
