Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm F/3.5-5.6 EZ Pancake schwarz

I use this on a GH4 to make it very portable. It lacks stabilization and is not fast, but it makes it possible to have my GH4 with me and not need much space.

I brought this lens to replace the origin lens on my Olympus PMI. It work perfect. I love the power zoom.

Just received the lens today and I have not been able to mount it on the body yet. I think Olympus have quality issues with their products. This lens outer ring seems rough on some spots. I am assuming that I received a new copy from B&H but it looks slightly used. This is my second bad experience with Olympus lens. I decided not accept it but this time I think that its not acceptable. Review is strictly for the cosmetic issue and not functionality.

How do more people not know about this lens?! I searched youtube and found a couple short unboxings in other languages, but nothing other than that. In short, this, paired with the automatic lens cap (LC-37C), is by far the coolest lens Ive ever used. I have it fixed on my G85, which transforms it into a pocketable point-and-shoot camera. The lens cap opens and closes automatically when you power cycle the camera! With the lens (and auto-cap) mounted, and a wrist-strap attached, my G85 fits into a neoprene body sleeve normally intended for the camera body without a lens. The whole deal fits inside my coat pocket, meaning I can bring it anywhere without a second thought. Unlike the f/8 bodycap lens, the 14-42mm is tack sharp, and covers a very useful focal length range. f/3.5-5.6 isnt great, so maybe carry a fast prime in your other pocket if youll be out at night. Wish Id discovered this years ago. It should be in every m43 shooters kit!

I purchased this lens after researching. - Although the lens does work with the X5 on the Inspire 1v2. - The zoom does work although not smooth and really only workable on the drone if you unscrew and remove a plate on the X5. - Then, still only for still images.
