I was looking for a replacement for my Z 50mm f/1.8 lens which I was hardly using. I already own the extremely sharp Z MC 105mm macro which has been a great addition to my camera bag but wanted a more compact macro that I could carry around in my smaller bag and could also be used for non-macro work. The Z MC 50mm f/2.8 easily fits the bill on all counts. Regardless of whether it is used for closeup work or for scenic and even portraiture, it delivers edge-to-edge sharp images in both regular and low light situations. It takes the “Nifty 50” to a whole new level, plus having both macros gives me a whole new level of flexibility when doing closeup work. (The 105 does have the advantage of allowing you some distance when shooting some subjects, but I don’t count that as a negative.)

I bought this lens to use with the Z mirrorless range. It was relatively cheap compared to other lens in the Z range, but its very sharp and ideal for close up/macro work. Highly recommended

This little lens takes great pictures! The images are sharp and have beautiful color fidelity throughout the range. It is small, light-weight and inexpensive, but packs a real punch within its working range. The optical quality is excellent although the plastic build is not rugged. Because of the short 50mm focal length for a macro lens, it is necessary to get very close for 1:1 captures, a problem with shadows from the camera and photographer, but workable with care. It is a great lens for price and portability.

Nice macro lens and can also be used as a "nifty fifty". Am a hobbyist photographer and purchased to use for macro photos, but also am having fun using it as a walk around street photography lens. Captures great images in my opinion and the price was right too.
