This lens, no matter how much it is micro adjusted, is completely inconsistent with its autofocus. Even when sent in to Nikon to be calibrated, its only a matter of weeks / months until it falls off again. This has held true with both copies I have owned of this lens. When it does hit, it renders beautiful tones however. But as a wedding photographer, its not a gamble I can take any longer.

Great Bokeh, fast and accurate focussing and very pleasing results. Topped with great B&H service, what more can you want ? Always had a gap in my Primes collection, this fills it nicely and will be a great lens to use on the Z6 when it arrives.

I debated purchasing this lens FOREVER. I own the 24-70mm 2.8, 50mm 1.4, 105mm micro 2.8, and my favorite, the 85mm 1.4. I thought this lens with be redundant but after shooting my last indoor, lifestyle newborn sessions, the 24-70mm and 50mm left me wanting more. I just shot another newborn session last week in very low-light, completely with this lens, with the exception of a few micro shots and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this lens. For my outdoor session I plan to have one camera with my 35mm 1.4 and one with my 85 1.4- the perfect combo!

I purchased the 105 1.4 and was fascinated how it compared to any lense. I would use my 2.8 Zooms and then the 105 1.4 and could predict which would be my favorite image. It was 80% the 105 1.4. So I had to buy the 35 1.4 and the same thing is happening. Don't know if its the quality of the lense, prime vs zoom or the "foot focal length adjustment" making better pictures but in any light condition except pitch dark you can turn off the flash. If you don't have any Nikkor 1.4 lenses, and buy anyone, it will not be your last....(I am not a professional but an enthusiast that really enjoys great glass).

I have several Nikon Lens,and for some reason left this out till now. Price wise I would have to pay a lot more if bought at a retail shop in the city. This Lens is very sharp and very fast,incredible quality. I only feel sorry that I didn't buy it sooner, as it has become my favourite glass of the gear I own.
