Fujifilm XF 18mm F/1.4 R LM WR

This is a great lens! I now wonder why I didn't buy this sooner. Particularly good for street and landscape photography. Superb image quality!

I bought this for my XT-5. I now own three fuji lenses, a 56mm telephoto, a 33mm 'standard' lens, and now this 18mm wide. My shooting is mostly street photography plus some landscapes and food. I find the 56mm very useful, and this wide is a good complement at the other end of the focal range. If I had to pick two it would be those; I find the 'standard' 33mm lens a bit tedious in its look, neither compressing the scene and focusing on details like the 56mm, nor including massive amounts of context like the 18mm. I sometimes even leave the 33mm at home. Regarding the 18mm, I like its small size and light weight. It has a proper focus ring and not the mildly annoying focus-by-wire of the 56mm, so focus is easier to control. I read a review that focus throw was too short, but I don't find that. It seems solidly constructed and the image quality is great. I also was pleasantly surprised that it's quite wide.

Good Points: Brilliant quality, super fast, razor sharp and good bokeh

This is super compact for a 24mm f/1.4. Its sharp wide open and has lovely colour and contrast in images. Is built like a tank and weather proofed. Focus is superfast, accurate and quiet. Aperture ring is slightly looser than the 33mm & 23mm f/1.4 but not so much as to be a problem. Images are just gorgeous straight out the camera. Highly recommend the lens.
