Die Bildqualität ohne Tilt oder Shift ist genial gut, es gehört zu den schärfsten Objektiven, die ich verwenden durfte. Geshiftet sinkt die Bildqualität, bleibt aber nach wie vor wesentlich besser, als wenn man digital stürzende Linien entzerrt. Für die Fotografie enger Innenräume sehr gut geeignet. Ich habe damit verschiedene Mietwohnungen fotografiert, das funktioniert sehr gut. Mit Stativ und etwas Zeit kann man jedes Zimmer sogar bizarr groß wirken lassen. Für das Spiel mit deutlicher Unschärfe sind naturgemäß die längerbrennweitigen Tilt-Shift-Objektive zu bevorzugen, das kann das 17er TS natürlich nur begrenzt. Aber selbst hier ist es möglich, die Schärfeebene entsprechend zu legen

I have been using this lens for almost a decade now and it always "enhanced" every situation I had to capture, obviously architecture and landscape. But now mounted on a Sony A7RII it's just ridiculous the improvement in image quality over my last Canon body (5D MKIII...I know the 5DS is way better...but sorry I left the Canon boat long time ago but couldn't leave my 17 TS-E and also my 200 f1.8 but that's another story.. ; ) For the ones that still hesitate, rent it first, and you'll have no choice than to buy it after.. ; ) And in 2018 you have now the choice for filter holder without vignetting... take the 145mm, the 100mm system won't let you get the full potential of the movements, happy shooting... ; )

Hands down the best lens for the job. I used to shoot buildings using a Linhof 4x5 with a bag bellows and a 65mm. This lens makes life much easier. It also has great resale value. I have had this lens before and would sell it if not used in a year. Then I buy another, like this one. You don't lose much cash and way easier than renting.
