Very fine super wide, and best used to isolate subjects by thrusting them into forward view. Coma/Fuzz is low but evident on full frame shots where subjects run to the edges.

I needed to get this focal point twice to get a sharp duplicate, first one was off on the correct focus edge. This one I have now is flawless and handles bending and CA great and sharp appropriate to the edge. Shading, differentiate, sharpness is on the whole astounding, the new focal point top plan beats the old with a progressively secure hold to the focal point hood. I sold a Canon 16-35mm on the grounds that this focal point completes superior employment at the wide end and the 16-35 likewise help support the 14 think about its 2K road cost, however definitely justified even despite the confirmation cost.

Overpriced, but you get what you pay for. Want to learn to shoot. get a fixed lens (old school)

I've got a soft spot for ultra-wides, and it's no secret that for a long time, this was THE ultra-wide to rule them all, unless you had a castle to swap for Nikon's legendary Holy Grail. How unkind time can be. Third-party providers have popped out of nowhere over the past decade and all eventually released a rival rectilinear 14mm. All have come at a lower price, and most have either marginally or vastly out-performed this classic, always by improving on significant original shortcomings. Canon's 14mm 2.8 L II has always been somewhat notorious for chromatic aberration, but other complaints have to do with questionable sharpness under f5.6, and an odd decision to produce this lens with only 6 aperture blades, leading to ugly bokeh and silly-looking sunstars. If you want the same experience at a fraction of the cost, check out Rokinon's offering. If you have cash and seek a game-changer, play around with Sigma's significantly faster rival.

Love this lens, love it's perspective. Since purchasing three weeks ago it has hardly left my camera. Takes some practice learning how to use it. Sharp, minimal distortion - the beauty of a prime lens. Keep the lens cap on when not taking photos to protect the bulbous front element. Not ND filter system-friendly, as is the case with most lenses of this focal length.
