Needed this little cable to enable my 3rd display. It did the trick and now I have an additional display for graphic and web design. Thank you... Just what my computer needed.

I have a laptop that does not have a VGA out connector (Alienware M11x R2). My laptop has a Displayport, however, and I purchased this so that I could hook the laptop up to a projector that only has a VGA in. It seems to work perfectly, and I've used it numerous times without problems.

This item works perfectly fine with my Eyefinity setup. At first I had an Active Displayport to DVI-D adapter, but after numerous problems of the adapter turning on and off (as with several other people who tried using these), I decided to try it out with a DP to VGA adapter. This adapter works perfectly fine and delivers a resolution of 1920x1080 on the monitor using it, allowing me to have an Eyefinity setup of 5760x1080. Product doesn't seem cheap either and appears to be quite sturdy. If you're on the look for a cheaper alternative to those $100 Displayport to DVI adapters, I would definitely recommend this HP adapter, especially considering that the quality loss from DVI to VGA isn't that noticeable if you have a good monitor. How my monitors are setup: - Left monitor: DVI to VGA - Center monitor: DVI-D - Right monitor: HP Displayport to VGA
