Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey Pour Femme Deo Roll-On 50ml

Utterly, utterly beautiful. So pretty & feminine. It's a true lilac smelling lightly powdery musk. An inoffensive, compliment getting, signature scent worthy fragrance. A blind buy for those who like The Body Shop White Musk & Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc; delicate florals & white t'shirt, clean laundry musks. It lasts all day & a couple of days on clothes. I'm thrilled with this!

Boil in the Bag green floral with galbanum and hyacinth... cf. YSL Y (1964), Givenchy III, Vacances, No 19, Fidji, etc.

With an aqueous translucency, A Scent is a modern interpretation of the hyacinth-galbanum-citrus floral, shimmering and crisp, like the sun shining on a vernal pool. Bitter stems, white and purple blooms, the early verdant lawns of a warm day in April after a soft rain is the feeling I get here. It is lucid, simple, somewhat soapy and sheer, a bit more floral than I had expected, which is in fact a plus (I discern a wonderfully sheer jasmine note). I discern hints of crushed tomato leaves and basil as well. It also reminds me somewhat of Calyx without the overripe cantaloupe and fruit salad. I would wear a few sprays while visiting Garden in the Woods in Framingham, MA, while admiring the spring ephemerals: the development that eventually leads to a woody dry down would complement the surroundings. This is unfortunately no longer in production, but still available at not too steep a cost (for now).

Another sweet, diabetic failure from Issey Miyake. I keep going back to try the new stuff he brings out, hoping someone would have a face slap moment and bring back Le Feu D'Issey, but it seems that his tastes are stuck on sweet floral stuff that lacks personality. or depth. There is such a discrepancy between the aesthetic of the various clothing designs in the IM store and his perfumes. I imagine little girls wanting to wear Pleats Please or this lilac concoction, which oddly remind me of those cheap perfumes of the 90's drugstore. I loved the recent IM clothing designs, have most of his jumpsuits and am planning to invest in his Kyoto hand dyed dresses, but I can't think of ruining that aesthetic with this cheap water. I can't even bring myself to call it perfume, as it would be an insult to the name. The bottle is such a dumb design, too. Heavy, unwieldy round clear glass that can't even stand on its own. Continuous disappointment since 2010.

This perfume is beautiful. It is the perfect creamy, lilac scent. There is nothing so beautiful as lilac, and there are so few perfumes that focus on this note. It lasted on me all day, but it isn’t a loud floral. I will certainly be reaching for this often in the spring. The creaminess and slight musk keep this from feeling old fashioned/ vintage. Daytime, Spring, floral, pretty, and the perfect wedding scent.
