Motorola edge 50 Pro, 16,9 cm (6.67"), 12 GB, 512 GB, 50 MP, Android 14, Schwarz

I've used Motorola for many years but this curved screen is one big hassle. You need to hold the phone on the very top and very bottom where the screen doesn't but most people hold the phone from the sides . So I have found it's best to have a phone around case so you can hold the case instead of the phone. Sounds crazy I know ! The good side is the camera works as good as an Apple iPhone .

I've had this phone for a few months and it has not disappointed. I love that the battery lasts all day (mixed audio streaming, web browsing, social media and playing games). Charging takes minutes rather than hours with the fast charger (provided) and it will charge from a power bank if necessary. The photos are bright and detailed, friends have commented that the photos are great. I love the Moto Gestures and this influenced my decision to buy this phone. For the price it is very hard to fault.

Always had Motorola phones, but this one has been a nightmare. The curved edge makes it impossible to grip securely, typing set up is awful despite using different keyboards, letters drop off the edge, keyboard sensitivity is so poor all over, but especially around the edges, even with the sensitivity adjusted . Topped off by glass cracking very easily, such that it rendered it useless within three months. I'm actually glad to see the back of it. The colour was nice but that's it!

I had thought long and hard about changing from Samsung - I had a 2 year old S21FE - and after 10 days of use I am really pleased with the move to Motorola. For the price, the phone is great value for money, has fantastic storage and does everything I need. It even comes with a rapid charger (incredibly fast but phone does warm up), which is rare in current market. Set up was quick and easy even with transfer from another brand. Apps load and work really well. One negative in my pre purchase thinking was that reviews I read elsewhere suggested Android Auto would not link. It didn't work for me at first but a bit of patience eventually paid off and it now works fine. The phone came with Android 14 but I was invited to upgrade to 15 during first week, which I did. Overall, I really feel it fully deserves the 5 stars I have given.
