Having recently reviewed the best phone I have ever used and then one that any other company apart from Google would have consigned to the bin 18 months ago this was always going to be, shall we say, difficult. In the past I have reviewed several other Honor offerings, so to be as fair as possible I took a good bit longer before presenting my thoughts.

It's a kind of magic. Magic represents Honor's top league of smartphones. Lite, on the other hand, is an indicator of slimmed-down hardware. The Honor Magic4 Lite 5G thus falls in the middle between two poles. 120 Hz refresh rate, but only an LC display. Triple camera, but neither wide-angle nor telephoto lens. Magic or Lite? The Honor Magic 4 Lite offers good performance for the price, but it lacks a great camera and an OLED screen, which means it doesn't always hit the mark.

Honor’s mid-range 5G handset offers plenty to be excited about with longer battery life than rivals but had camera issues while lacking an AMOLED panel – all at a higher price than key rivals making it hard to recommend.
