HiKOKI R18dslw4z Handstaubsauger 18v
Hitachi R18DSLP4 has awful suction. It's F ilter clogs easily and does not accept new filter media into the plastic frame. The poor design allows dirt to pass into the exaust if the vac is held horizontally or rotated -- one must be careful to watch the angle of attack. Attachments like the thin nozzle are not integrated into the tool body like my Dust Buster where the nozzle flips out for cleaning crevices. The plastic body is brittle and scratches easily and scratches other surfaces once it is scratched. I see very limited use for quick sawdust pickup, but it will not leave a clean surface due to limited suction. The vac is not powerful enough to clean crumbs from a car seat. R18DSLP4 is the absolute worst Hitachi 18v slide-battery tool.

I had high hopes for this lil' vacuum. It has a very small filter and vacuum chamber that clogs very quickly. And when it's clogged, the suction decreases markedly. I can't recommend that anyone buy this thing unless you're just picking up rocks or water (no dust sized particles).

Out of the box, tested on cat litter & food on vinyl & carpeted floor, a bristle foot mat & car carpet. Worked adequately on all surfaces it can get flush with picking up litter, sand & cat hair. Worked poorly on sand in car floor mat ridges & cup holders w nubs in bottom. A good product for the use intended.

WTF? Fascinating that this is sold WITHOUT a battery OR battery charger! Silly of us to presume we'd receive a piece of equipment that's complete and ready to use after charging. This was a low price until we saw that it would have cost $40 for the battery to use it. Ridiculous. Steer clear!
