As Neil says, it is massive. I was out with my measurement check by about 10mm and the case needed a bit of metal work modification to my fit the card in. But that's what happens when you insist on using a 12 year old case! And it's heavy - it's almost a two person job to install. Anyway, I got it in. It's an upgrade from a 3080Ti and it's been well worth it, particularly for MSFS on a 49" ultrawide. It runs really well, MSFS on ultra makes it go up to 53deg, very happy with it. No issues with RGB management through its own software. I use Armoury Crate to manage the rest of the RGB which sadly doesn't recognise the card but hoping SignalRGB will support it soon.

Upgraded from a 3070ti mainly for VR flight and driving sims. Oh my god, this card is huge, just make sure you have measured inside your PC case to make sure it will fit. Now, the performance. This thing chews through everything I throw at it without breaking a sweat. The hottest it’s been is 65 degrees in Furmark stress test. It has transformed my VR experience to smooth as butter with incredible detail. It’s ridiculously expensive, but I don’t anticipate upgrading anything on my rig for years to come. It really is the most game changing upgrade I’ve ever made.

I have to admit, I wasn't expecting this much of a difference between my 3080ti and this 4090 but I was pleasantly surprised, it's considerably faster than my 3080ti for VR use. Gigabyte seem to have done a wonderful job with this card's build quality, it's not the prettiest card out there, but my case is in a spot I have to go out of my way to look into it, so aesthetics are not important to me. I can now run stuff in VR with no problems, things that the 3080ti choked on. (mostly sim racing stuff). Yes, it has a hefty price tag (even when on sale) but the performance is pretty impressive. :) My system consists of Ryzen 5900x, 32 gigs of 3200mhz ram, Aorus Elite wifi motherboard (X570), Seasonic 1200 watt PSU, 1tb Samsung 980 pro NVME (Boot drive), Kingston 1tb NVME, and various sata SSDs. Arctic Liquid Freezer 360 with Noctua Redux fans all in a Phanteks Enthoo Pro full tower case.

Fun card especially if you 4K game, otherwise just buy a 30 series.
