BOSS LS-2 Line Selector Gitarrenpedal

Von Boss ist man sich Qualität gewohnt und bei dem Klassiker ist es nicht anders. Ich habe das Pedal gekauft, damit ich verschiedene Pedalboards/Effektgeräte mit dem Umschalter vergleichen kann - ein lästiges Umkabeln entfällt und man kann damit Sounds wirklich sehr gut vergleichen. Mit den Level-Reglern kann man allfällige Unterschiede in der Lautstärke abgleichen und die verschiedenen Switch-Modi sind perfekt: Die Möglichkeiten sind endlos.. es gibt praktisch nichts, was das Pedal nicht kann. Das einzige was nicht geht: Send/Return erlauben keine Stereo-Send und Stereo-Returns und der Output ist ebenfalls "nur" Mono. Wenn jemand Synthesizer spielt und anschliessend in eine Reihe von Stereo-Effekten will, dann geht das nicht. Fragt mich nicht, wie man das Pedal konstruieren müsste, aber wenn es geht, wäre es ein ultimativ geniales Tool und hätte den Namen "Boss LS-3 Ultra" verdient :D

I bought this pedal to blend my clean signal with my distortion signals since none of my drive pedals have a blend knob. (Mix A+B Setting) [Close the A line loop with a single short patch cable, so that the input signal comes into return A without further FX; Add all drive pedals into the B line loop] It has changed my bass sound forever (for the better obviously)! A colleague of mine uses the same pedal for the same purpose, and we both cannot imagine playing without it anymore! There are individual controls for both the A and B line output, so that the pedal essentially acts like a on/off mixer with bypass (in Mix A+B mode, there are different modes for different applications). As for the overall quality of the pedal: As usual with boss products, there is not a single flaw in production and handling, and the pedal does exactly what it is supposed to.

Was Routing-Optionen betrifft kann diese kleine Wunderkiste einfach alles. Das LS2 ist ein sehr praktisches Multitool, das man eigentlich just-in-case einfach haben sollte. Umschalten von Loops, Mischen von Loops, Input/Output-Auswahl, ... es ist so viel mit diesem kleinen Teil möglich. Die Qualität ist typisch Boss, wobei es bei meinem Pedal manchmal vorkommt, dass der Taster nicht reagiert, wenn ich nicht richtig drauf trete. Meine anderen Boss-Pedale waren da nicht so wählerisch und reagieren leichter.

Ich habe das Teil gekauft, weil ich für meine Amp (Mesa Mark V-25) eine 2. schaltbare Lautstärke für Soli haben wollte, dieses Feature fehlt dem kleinen Mark V nämlich leider. Also habe ich den LS-2 in den FX-Weg gehängt und jetzt kann ich über die beident Potis 2 unterschiedliche Lautstärken undabhängig von der Kanalwahl des Boogies aktivieren. Man muss aber aufpassen die Potis nicht zu sehr aufzudrehen, da es sonst zu rauschen beginnt (1 Stern Abzug bei Sound). Wenn man die Master am Amp ziemlich weit aufdreht und die Potis am BOSS dafür weniger, funktioniert es aber hervorragend. Das Teil ist sehr stabil, schwer und recht hoch, was aber auch von Vorteil sein kann wenn man es in der hintersten Reihe vom Pedalboard montieren will. Empfehlendswertes Multi-Tool fürs Pedalboard.

So much more than a "line splitter", the LS-2 offers two effects loops along with every combination of how you want those inputs routed. This same pedal can be used to split a signal chain, add in (and take out) an effects loop, and even blend those loops in every way imaginable. It even offers a "9V power out" so you can use it to daisy-chain power to other pedals. This pedal is ridiculously flexible. I like playing around with my pedal board, and I like having options, so for me the LS-2 is indispensable. Indeed, I will be purchasing at least one more. This is a must-have pedal for me.
