Epiphone ES-335 gemasert Blueberry Burst

Wasn't overly impressed on unpacking as it was not that well secured in the box very well, however, all was good and the finish immaculate even though it reminded me of my grandads Singer Vogue (1960's car in that maroon paint), I really like it now though. First play was a bit lacklustre though there was a trace of that "sound" that I bought it for, keeping in mind that it sounds better than it's price point. I love the neck and fretboard , so effortless to play, it's flatter than the Fender/Squire guitars which I find arkward. The set up wasn't bad but a re string with Roto Yellows and slight adjustments and this guitar is really quite amazing, huge improvement and I'm back in 1967!!! Not sure about saving up for the Gibson 335 now I'm that impressed. Can't comment on the durability at this time but all seems okay and very well made

Excellent guitar, incredibly reasonably priced, received in perfect condition, and already well set up. Plays like a dream. I could spend about five times the money for the Gibson, which is fractionally better it seems, but why???

Love this guitar. Epiphone have done a fantastic job. From quality to price just perfect. My advice is get one before they stop making them

Ich habe mir die Epiphone aus Interesse bestellt, da ich gern wissen wollte, ob mir eine ES "passt". Nach einer Woche Kennenlernphase musste ich jedoch feststellen, dass sie mir einfach zu groß ist. Aus meiner Sicht bekommt man hier viel Gitarre für´s Geld. Die Verarbeitung ist grundsolide, hat aber Luft nach oben. Folgende Punkte sind mir besonders aufgefallen: - scharfe Bundenden - hohe Saitenlage - schlechte Intonation - kratzige Elektronik Alles Punkte, die sich beheben lassen, wenn man will.

Die Epiphone ES-335 bietet klanglich eine sehr gute Basis. Der Sound ist warm, offen und typisch 335 – sowohl clean als auch angezerrt absolut überzeugend. Sustain und Resonanz sind gut, insgesamt eine solide Grundlage. Allerdings war die Gitarre „out of the box“ nahezu unbespielbar. Die Werkseinstellung war sehr schlecht (Saitenlage, Setup), was eine umfassende Nacharbeit erforderlich machte. Zudem gab es mehrere kleinere optische Mängel. Die Potiknöpfe waren lose bzw. abgefallen, ein Potischaft war verbogen und musste gerichtet bzw. ersetzt werden. Wer bereit ist, Zeit zu investieren (ca. 8–10 Stunden für gründliches Setup und Nacharbeit), kann aus der Gitarre ein wirklich gutes Instrument machen. Ohne diese Arbeiten wirkt sie jedoch unfertig. Fazit: Klanglich stark, aber qualitativ in der Endkontrolle schwach. Eher geeignet für Spieler mit Schraubererfahrung oder der Bereitschaft, in ein professionelles Setup zu investieren.
