Der Thrustmaster TH8S Shifter ist eine preiswerte und vielseitige Option für Simracer, die einen H-Muster-Schalthebel suchen. Das Gerät funktioniert mit PC und Konsolen sowie vielen Lenkrädern dank USB und DIN. Der Metallschalthebel und der Sportknauf sorgen für präzises und schnelles Schalten, und der Widerstand ist individuell einstellbar. Der Plastikknauf fühlt sich jedoch weniger hochwertig an und es gibt keine sequentielle Schaltfunktion, was manche Nutzer als Nachteil empfinden. At this price, you obviously can't expect miracles. It's made entirely of plastic and feels more like a toy than a real gear lever. But for those who want to have fun with a manual gearbox on their favourite simulation, it's an excellent purchase. The dual connectivity (for connection to a Thrustmaster base or via USB-C) means you can look to the future with confidence. Perhaps the 7th gear wasn't necessary after all...

I think my gearbox is really excellent for the price, it's really good. The gear changes on Assetto are excellent, and on ETS 2 too. I still need to test it with City Car Driving. I don't regret my purchase.

The shifter itself works well however it was broken out of the box. The red part on top with all the gear numbers and the leather dust guard thing was fully snapped off

Insgesamt fast der selbe Shifter wie der erheblich teurere TH8A, nur mit günstigeren Materialien aber überarbeiteten Internals. Anscheinend wurde die selbe Platine verwendet, denn er wird als TH8A erkannt. Tut was er soll, Gänge lassen sich knackig schalten, ist aber etwas laut. Fix: Tesafilm oder vergleichbares dort um die Schaltstange kleben wo diese kontakt mit dem Plastik macht. Was leider noch mehr nervt ist, dass er am PC nur per USB erkannt wird und wenn man Konsole und PC im wechsel nutzen möchte muss man jedesmal den stecker am Shifter umstecken, weil dieser nur ein angeschlossenes Kabel zur selben zeit erlaubt (Schiebeverschluss).
