Das PlayStation Portal bietet eine hervorragende Möglichkeit, PS5-Spiele mit voller DualSense-Funktion und klarem 1080p-Display zu streamen. Das Gerät liegt bequem in der Hand und ist ideal, wenn der Fernseher geteilt werden muss. Es ist jedoch vollständig von einer PS5 abhängig und funktioniert nur im selben Netzwerk, was die Mobilität einschränkt. Bluetooth fehlt, daher sind nur Pulse-Headsets nutzbar. Die Vibrationsmotoren sind auffällig laut und der Benutzerwechsel ist umständlich. Für reines Remote-Gaming auf der PS5 ist es eine starke Wahl, Alternativen bieten jedoch oft mehr Flexibilität.

An oddity perhaps, the PlayStation Portal isn't a true handheld console, rather a way to play games streamed from your own PS5. In that respect it excels. The large, 8-inch screen is superb and latency is nigh-on non-existent. Plus, you can use it with a mobile hotspot or external Wi-Fi connection. If it had access to cloud gaming too, it'd be better still, but even as it stands it's great for hardcore PlayStation fans who want to play when the TV is unavailable.

I absolutely love the PS Portal Remote Player especially after the update which basically turned this into an PS5 Handheld console. You will need the PS Plus premium subscription which to me is well worth it. The only problem I have is that if you don't have a proper WIFI connection then you are COOKED!!!! I would pay if SONY finds a way to stream using 5G/Mobile data instead of depending on WIFI connections!!!!
