This is a Nikon branded lens cap that (at 58mm) will fit the 16-85mm lens. It fits the lens snugly, and does its job, just as you'd expect. It's more expensive than off brand lens caps of the same size, but if you're ok with that, there's no reason not to buy ir.

These Nikon caps just work properly. I have them for all my lenses (which are Canon or Zeiss). The only downside is the badge on the front

What else could I expect? It is original from Nikon. Don't waste your time finding any non-Nikon.
