As usual, personally I prefer using the direct manufacturer accesories, they fit better and our typically made better. Of course we all pay more, but as the story goes, do we buy a 1966 VW Bug or a new BMW? (LOL). I lost my 77mm Canon Lens cap for my 70-200 zoom on a photo shoot, ordered this duplicate after putting on my cheap $8.00 emergency stand by. Yup, gigantic difference. The Canon plastic is harder, much more protective, the double insert buttons to snap on/off the cap is quick and easy, and the grip on to the lens is perfect, so yes, pay a little more and protect your lens investment!

I almost always use a hood with my lenses. This being the case, it is awkward to remove the standard lens cap without removing the hood. With this style of lens cap, I can just reach inside the hood and easily remove the cap. It just makes my life a little easier:)

Always always lose one when Im on a trip, so bought an extra for next time that happens. :) It is canon, so it holds on tight...until I drop it. :)

Well its not really NEW, but lets say newer. This is the improved design that holds the cap onto the lens or filter with more catch than the old ones. Having lost mine, I bought 2 to be sure... then found my lost one. Anybody need a lens cap? Anyhow, these are the real deal original Canon caps. Enjoy.
