Optic is excellant, to adapt to eye geometry could be better. Also no protecton for the eyes aganst light from he side.

Excellent purchase and you get what you pay for. Brightens dark areas at dawn, dusk, clarity is wonderful. I like the capability to span between birding and wildlife viewing. 10x42 for me coupled with well designed set up- except eye cups and objective cover. Minor annoyances and the quality of the Conquest binocular doesnt make me feel like Im missing much vs paying alpha prices for next level.

I purchased these binos in July and took them to South Africa in August 2018. Ive also had an opportunity to use them in the mid-west. The 10x42 is the right magnification for both locations. I was concerned about the weight but it is a non issue. I wear them at my side with the strap across my chest/back. The Zeiss Conquests have a crisp, clear image that was good in Africa during the day and in the mid-west close to dark. The only issue with these binoculars are the lens caps. Others have mentioned them too. The caps are flexible and dont stay in place. Zeiss should have made them as a solid disc with a rubber surround, but they didnt. I would still buy again as this is a minor design issue. The main purpose of the bino is to look through, not the caps.

I wanted a new pair of binoculars to replace my ageing Pentax pair. My Pentax ones were 25 years old and were a huge improvement when I bought them on my previous pair. These Zeiss Conquest 10 x 42 are fantastically sharp over the whole field of view. The focus wheel is very smooth and the whole package seems very solid. The field of view is great. I have tried them looking at the night sky and was amazed how many more stars I can see when compared with my Pentax binoculars. So the brightness must be good. They are compact. Only downside in my opinion is the weight. The Zeiss warranty seems very good. If these are mid-range I find it hard to believe that the top range can be much better!
