I bought it 2 years ago and it has failed. The data is locked so it cant be recovered and the drive cant be formatted. 2TB gone. If you value your data perhaps shop for something more permanent

It died on me. I was out of warranty. I paid $250 for this. What a waste. There was no service. They directed me to a 3rd party service. I had high hopes for this after my last $250 drive failed. All that I did was disconnect it from my computer. I'm pretty sure I disconnected it properly. When I put it back in, it wouldn't connect. I will go back to WD brand as it lasted years.

Ich habe die Festplatte als Cold-Backup erworben. Überall geworben mit "Easy Plug and Play", denkste! Seit 2024 gilt in der EU das keine Neugeräte ohne USB-C mehr verkauft werden dürfen. Leider musste ich rausfinden, dass dies NICHT für externe Festplatten gilt. Darüber hinaus habe ich mich leider von USB-3.2 täuschen lassen. Da heutzutage viele Laptops keinen USB-A Anschluss mehr haben, ist die Festplatte somit ausschließlich für ältere Laptops und PC's geeignet, welche noch einen vollwertigen USB-A Anschluss besitzen. Ich denke, dass sollte man vor dem Kauf wissen.

This is the second one I am buying - great to automatically backup my files. The Toolkit software that comes with it is simple to set up and use, and it has good security features.

I needed extra storage for certain files, and this fits the bill very well. Great price, solid brand, good features.Overall, I am very pleased.
