OWC Aura Pro, 500 GB, 530 MB/s, 6 Gbit/s

Misleading reviews is how I labelled this. Bought this for my mid 2013 MacBook Air. Now I should of read the item description. However after reading the rievews o thought great a user has bought it used it and it works. This is not the case it will only fit 2011 models. Meaning I lost around 45 on the return. I know I should of read the description but I feel as there are on,y two reviews the seller could have deleted the inappropriate review to avoid people like me buying in future.

Bought this for my mac book air mid 2013, Not much to say really it works very well much Faster than the standard drive does, the only criticism I have is that they should of provided some instructions on how to install the drive and how to recover it afterwards, seeing as this drive only fits one or 2 different machines this would be very easy for them to do

Bought this 18 months ago when they said it would not void my AppleCare warranty. About 6 months later it died and they sent me a new one. About 3 months later my keyboard needed space bar replace. Apple Store would not repair it because when they opened up my MacBook Air they saw an un-authorized OWC SSD. They flagged my serial number as void in their system and said they will never repair my MacBook Air, ever, even if I pay for the repair. Nine months later the replacement went bad. This time they told me I had to buy a recovery program to get my data off cuz something corrupted the drive directory. got my data after spending $130 for Disk Warrior. A week later the SSD went absolutely dead. Back to square one. I want my money back or store credit. OWC customer service refuses to do either. If I get a replacement I know it will die again. OWC was and still is in the wrong saying it does not void the warranty when it does. They still say it to this day.

I would have loved this product except that having installed it and had it working perfectly. For a week, just after I deleted the original copy disk image and before I did a new Time Machine back up the chip failed totally with a corrupt directory. Using every tool known to man I managed to retrieve all my crucial information before it stopped working permanently. A replacement came in a couple of days and so far it works but leaves me a little nervous. This SSD is lightning fast. For example browsing thumbnails in iPhoto there is no lag at all. Smooth scrolling all the way. I do a lot of FCP work and this is also much faster. Really allows me to take advantage of the i7 upgrade on my mid-2011 Air.

Tut was es tun soll. Keine Langzeiterfahrungen vorhanden. Vorsicht: Funktioniert *NICHT* mit dem "OWC Mercury Aura Gesandten USB3.0 SSD Gehäuse für MacBook Air 2010-2011 SSD". Ich wollte zuerst meine interne Platte darauf kopieren, dann die neue SSD einbauen. Das ging aber mit dem Gehäuse nicht! Deswegen war der umgekehrte Weg erforderlich. Mir wäre es lieber, wenn ich alles extern erledigen könnte und bestätigen könnte, dass die neue "Platte" läuft, bevor ich mein Mac auf mache und das Teil einbaue. Das Problem war das Gehäuse, nicht die Platine.
