I had been using a previous version of this drive for years, but eventually the drive went bad. This version, which I am using on the same PC the previous version supported just fine on. Constantly freezes when I copy files to it. I tried rebooting, disabling virus scanning, disabling indexing, disabling compression, even re-formatting.... In the end nothing worked. The product is a huge step backward compared to the older versions, and I recommend customers look at other options.

This company produces the best USB devices on the market when eyeing security. I am a certified CISM, CISA, and CCIP - and I get to test a lot of devices like this. These are excellent, and completely secure. Anything stored on one of these devices can be assured to be secure. In my own testing I have not found a single flaw in over 3 years of using both this hard drive type, and the solid state USB thumb drives they offer. If you want top FIPS security, and AES encryption for your data - this is the company & product you will want to go to. Highly recommended.

Device set up was straightforward. It works well as intended for data storage from operating room pictures and allows me to transport those preserving patient privacy. However, when I try to transfer JPG files to my laptop to make PDFs, the device keeps turning off, presumably a laptop setting to conserve power. That is frustrating. As well, ideal would be to be able to unlock the device with my iPhone, facial recognition and have the device re-lock when the iPhone is out of range. For what it is, this device seems solid. For today’s world, devices like this need to be more integrative.

I purchased 7 of these for my company and now 5 out of the 7 are no longer working, and we are supposedly out of the return window, which is unacceptable for the amount of money that I spent on these 7 items.

Decided to stop working one day. Password works but no longer registering as a device. Tried with several different computers. Defective. Data completely gone. Think about how you're going to backup your encrypted data before you buy this.
