Purchased this a month ago, with the Focal atmos speakers, excellent design on A2A and speakers, sound is great and the staff at the Plymouth store was great.

Had yamahas recievers only for last 15 years,big fan of a desing and sound,finally bought the Aventage series,many options to set the sound which is very detailed and open with deep base on the Atmos....only issue i had few times with not passing 4k thru hdmi and unit had to be reseted to factory settings,small front screen and remote without backlight which is expected in this price range

I was pretty well forced to buy this as my oft-repaired Rotel receiver finally gave up the ghost, and I had to connect my front L&R speakers directly to my tv output to watch programmes with any sound at all. This receiver was the recommendation of Patrick at Stockport's branch, and I don't think I could be any more pleased with my purchase. I have now replaced my Pioneer blueray player and Marantz DVD/SACD player with a Sony X800M2, and the combination has really impressed me (and, more importantly my wife). The most I can say is that we are now enjoying revisiting our collection of music and video. In terms of connections the new setup is much more convenient, and options for radio (F.M. DAB, and Internet are great.
