Tim Burton delivers a fantastic tale of the legendary Sleepy Hollow, which, though not without its flaws, manages to be a thoroughly entertaining program.

We all know that Tim Burton is the master of goth and shock especially his films that are classic like Edward Scissor hands , Beetle Juice , Nightmare before christmas and Ed Wood). But Burton was a master of horror with " Sleepy Hollow" and based on the short story by Washington Iriving the visions of Burton and co- producer/headless horse men effect Kevin Yagher resurrected the Iriving's story and put it perfectly in Burton anf Yagher's vision. Grade A + BEST TIM BURTON FILM EVER !

The show is slated to return. I don’t know if we’ll get the prophesized years here, but there’s plenty of material to keep this one moving for a while. It has some horsepower, pun intended, and the cast is interesting enough. Of course, it owes its roots to Kolchak, who was the original supernatural investigator on television, and to The X-Files as well. So it’s not truly a groundbreaking idea. Fans of the original story will find that a ton of liberties have been taken here. It’s not very faithful to that material. I’m a bit disappointed that Washington Irving gets no credit in the opening titles. Don’t be too upset with the changes. It was an 18th century story being told on modern television. “Welcome to the 21st century, Mr. Crane.”

Must own if you're a fan of Tim Burton's work. I'm also a Johnny Depp fan so picking up this movie wasn't hard at all especially with it's low price tag. Buy it from Walmart and you'll get an Ultraviolet copy. The disc is old and uses and old codec but the picture quality is still pretty good and holds up unlike other early Blu-rays. The movie is very atmospheric and the transfer provides enough of an upgrade from DVD. A little outdated on the supplements but better than nothing. Tim Burton's style plus Johnny Depp and using a classic folktale for the plot and you have recipe for success.
