Stopped working after less than 100 slide scans. I can preview, but not make any scans without the scanner making loud grinding noises. The email support says to call them, but their customer support isn't open at the weekend, or in the evening, so I guess I'm stuck taking time out of my business day to deal with them and their poorly made product. They say to not contact the retailer if it's broken (perhaps trying to hide their poor reliability). When it works it's great, but it doesn't seem ready for daily scanning jobs.

The generic software for the scanner is not worth the disk space, but Silver fast is excellent if you are doing only a few scans at a time. I have thousands of negatives to scan and have gone back to my flatbed as it is quicker and excellent quality. Sold a few days after purchase.

I better say something about this Scanner. I'm using widows 10, and downloaded the updated drivers and silver fast software. Out of the box silver fast auto pilot just crashes and the program closes. If I don't use the auto pilot I can get through the options. The exposure is not good. Makes a perfectly good 120mm B&W negative look terrible. As I was going to do a return I read about this scanner with Vuescan. So I paid the 90 bucks, Wow. Now the scanner is now a different animal. Gives excellent results. The multi exposure option adds more detail. Vuescan turned my epson v800 into great scanner also. The software side is critical to these scanners. Maybe in the future silverfast will be more compatible with Windows 10. But if you spring the extra money for Vuescan. This scanner is excellent. Using silver fast is just to problematic, and I wouldn't recommend it. Purchased on 6-3-16
