I absolutely HATE using this printer I wish I never bought it. It is not user friendly. It is very hard to print from phone. Do not buy this printer unless you have a degree in rocket science.

Habe den Drucker erst wenige Wochen. Ich bin bisher ganz zufrieden. Die WLAN -Einrichtung könnte einfacher sein. Was mich wirklich stört, ist das kleine unleserliche Display.

Ich konnte den Drucker problemlos mit USB Kabel anschließen. Ich habe ihn noch nicht oft benutzt und die Scanfunktion noch nicht ausprobiert, aber was ich bisher damit gemacht habe, hat gepasst. Ich habe mich nach langer Recherche für einen Brother entschieden, da ich Windows bald verlassen und auf Linux mint umsteigen möchte. Ich habe in Erfahrung gebracht, dass die Brother Geräte, was die Linux Kompatibilität anbelangt, vergleichsweise gut sind. Wie es mit den Druckkosten anbelangt, kann ich noch nicht einschätzen.

As a Mac Book Pro user with latest OS26, I found best printer option is Brother. The 580 Multi Function printer is a Windows machine adapted to Mac. Severe learning curve for Mac users. Multiple settings needed for Wi-Fi connection, password changes, firmware upgrade. Downloading "Brother iPrint & Scan" to iPhone 17 and setting up from there, then same on Mac, has made setup and use much easier. Print to Mac uses AirPrint. Scanner quits on Mac, will have to solve that, but works on iPhone, then Airdrop the scan to Mac. Hate poking at the tiny, dark, tilted LED, so machine either has to be chest-height or user kneel on floor to use settings. I guess Brother should be thanked for covering Mac users. There is good help on Brother USA site, but hard to know optimal setup sequence, or what is causing flashing red warning (now gone). Great tank-inkjet print quality, perfect alignment out of the box. Fast and quiet, I'm starting to love it, using iPhone 100% as controller.
